Member general council NIEPMD, central ministry of social justice & empowerment and former minister, N. Thomas Lotha urged the people of Lakhuti village not look upon him as a politician, but a person with concern for the welfare of the people.
“Don’t judge me like a politician but look at me like a person, who is ready to work for the people,” the former minister said, after laying the foundation for the construction of Sunday school-cum-vocational building at Lakhuti village on Sunday.
It may be mentioned that the former minister announced his decision to erect the Sunday school-cum-vocational building in memory of his late father Ntsow Ngullie.
He assured the people that he would continue giving his best efforts for the betterment of the area and towards making Lakhuti an exceptional village.
N. Thomas Lotha asserted that his decision to erect the building was made with a view to bring up the children on Christian principles and to preserve the rich and cultural tradition of the forefathers.
Also expressing optimism that products created by the villagers could be put up at various places to generate income, the former minister further reminded elders to share their vocational talent with the younger generation once the building was completed.
“When the building is completed, share and learn your ideas and preserve the good manner and culture”, said Lotha.
Earlier, the laying of foundation was dedicated by executive secretary, KBES Rev. Dr. E. Nrio Ezung.
In his speech, Rev. Ezung termed the day as a feat, not only for the people of Lakhuti but also to the Lothas. He also thanked Lakhuti Baptist Church for extending cooperation and support.
On the occasion, Lakhuti Baptist Church has also inducted former pastor, Rev. T.A. Patton by Rev. Dr.E. Nrio Ezung.
Special numbers were presented by Golden Crown Choir, Dimapur and Chumjamo Ngullie.
