GBs’ Union Chessore area has expressed dissatisfaction at the ongoing work at Ngangpong to Chessore road stretching 44 km. The union said the work at Ngangpong to Chessore road stretching 44 km phasing 0-19kms and 19- 44km was undertaken by two contractors and was yet to make any progress.
President GB’s union, Lakiumong said the entire area depended on first phase starting from 0-19 Km stretch, which is the only lifeline of the people. He further added that if the entire stretch of 44 km was not completed by the last week of December, then the Yimchungru Akheru Arih ako (YAA) session cum Chessore village students union golden jubilee scheduled in the second week of January 2010 would be a failure.
GB’s union in this reagrd urged the government as well as the contractors to expedite the work as pledged at the time of their tender agreement and to complete the work at the specific time frame. “Be it known the passiveness of the people is not a sign of weakness but rather a reflection of patience”, GB’s union added.
