4-houses gutted at Phesama village

Three houses including granaries and stocks of planks were completely gutted while another house was partially burnt in a major fire incident at Phesama village Tuesday afternoon.
According to sources, the fire incident took place at around 1 to 1.30 pm at Merama Khel of Phesama village completely smoldering three hill type houses while the other was partially burnt’ The loss incurred was estimated be worth several lakhs of rupees. The three houses which were reduced to ashes reportedly belonged to Sezo, Vise and Methale while the partially burnt house belonged to one Kusa, all from Merama Khel. At the time of the incident, none of the owners were present as they were harvesting in their respective paddy fields.
The villagers reportedly tried to douse the fire manually but were hundred due to sudden explosion of two LPG gas cylinders. Nevertheless, the timely arrival of three fire tenders along with the fire personnel managed to put the fire under control and finally stopped the fire from spreading further to neighbouring houses.
Meanwhile, Phesama Village Council and the Merama Khel in particular thanked officials and personnel of the state fire service department for their timely arrival and intervention.
