Even on Wednesday night a house of one Muslim was torched at Tetliguri Balijan, P.S.Bakulia. The attacks have led to anger and resentment rising high among the Muslim community today at Diphu and including some minority belts across the district, dominated by Muslims.
According to information reaching here, more than fifty people armed with crude weapons, swooped on a Muslim habited area during midnight hours where the angry mob ordered the dwellers to vacate their huts then set ablaze ten houses. The chief executive member KAAC along with parliamentary secretary to the govt. of Assam visited the spot to take stock of the situation.
They assured victims of adequate help and compensation. Both the leaders urged people to maintain peace and communal harmony and not to indulge in unwanted provocations. On Monday night, one Muslim person was stabbed to death by unknown assailants at Rongnagar village located under Bakuliaghat Police station.
