Rotaract Club of Chumukedima organized a voluntary blood donation camp in Police Hospital Chumukedima on November 17.
Rotractors of RC Chumukedima, family members and well-wishers came forward to donate blood, and were later collected by the medical team from Civil Hospital Dimapur, headed by Dr. Temsu.
Altogether 31 units of blood were donated. It was a dream project for Rtr. Rajesh Deb, President, RC Cmd to organize a voluntary donation camp, which turned out to be a grand success.
Dr. Adaho, SMO, PHC in his speech expressed his gratitude to the Club for choosing PHC as the center for collection of the noble work and spreading awareness for the importance of donation blood.
He said the PHC was under renovation and up gradation work and disclosed that in future a blood bank would be set up to help people of Chumukedima and neighboring areas to access to blood bank easily.
Dr. Temsu in his speech said Rotaract Club of Chumukedima was like a family, as the club had also donated blood on few occasions.
He also described the Rotaract Club of Chumukedima were already familiar with the benefits of donating blood, and that their next task was to find a solution and bring an end to shortage of supply of blood.
He said that the Club should come under one umbrella and help in reducing the gap between the donor and recipient and also to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of blood.
Dr. Sashi, Consultant of Nagaland Police appreciated the Club for organizing the camp. Rotaract Club of Dimapur and Rotary Club of Dimapur attended the project. The Club meanwhile expressed gratitude to all who supported in making the program a success.
