Naga chilli eating competition on Dec 6

The ‘Naga Chilli Eating Competition’, with theme: “A bout with the World’s Hottest Chilli” would be held on December 6 at 12:30pm to 1pm at Heritage Village, Kisama (Main Rostrum Area).
The competition is sponsored state tourism department and managed by XL. Addressing media persons on Thursday at Dream Café, Kohima, XL director, Abu Metha said Naga chilli was an indigenous product endowed by God to the Nagas.
He also said that the video of the event would be available on You Tube and also broadcast globally.
XL member Dr. Tolto Metha said the competition, first of its kind at the Hornbill Festival would be have 32 competitors. The facts of Naga Chilli are recorded as ‘world’s hottest chilli’ with 1,041,427 SHU. (Scoville unit).
There will be two participants from all tribal Hohos of Nagaland. Participants have been asked to report on December 5 at 1pm for professional briefing at the Heritage (Old D.C. Bungalow).
