Reacting to the allegations levelled against the “current administration” over public land allotment in the district to private individuals, the Office of DC Dimapur Thursday issued clarification on the allegations on the basis of “available record”.
Spearheaded by the Naga Council , the memo on November 23 urged the chief minister to check undue allocation of public land and investigate into the same by constituting a special committee.
In response, the letter addressed to the additional chief secretary to chief minister, clarified that the issue pertaining to MSRTC land at Dimapur was pending for disposal at the government level, i.e. between governments of Nagaland and Manipur.
On allotment of land in Sugar mill area, the letter said the land was “allotted to private individuals ref. govt. approval/letter no.LR/11-5/86/dt.23rd June 1991 for five individuals and No.LR/11-90/Pt/Dt.25th Feb.92 for eleven individuals (area-50 acres each).” It was again pointed out that the land near public college of commerce was private “patta land” since 1979, ’87, ’90 and that there were ten pattadars.
The letter stated that since the land was a private “pattaland”, the IRB company station/camp has been shifted and the pattadars occupied their respective land as per allotment.
The pattadars include: Vidielo Kanye [ REV/LS/23/76 (Pt.II) Block-3]; Gurung, Dr.K.Solo and Piho [vide govt. order. no. LR/11-1/90/Dt.25/2/90, Block-3]; Kilen, Watikumba and Nokzen (vide govt. order. no.LR/11-17/85/Dt.7/9/87, Block-6) and Achet Aier, Wati, Lireamo (vide govt. order. no LR/2-62/83/Dt.7/1/84, Block 6).
On the allotment of Children’s Park at Supply Colony, the letter clarified that the land was allotted in the name of United Women Welfare Organisation Dimapur in 1989 vide order. no. Rev.17/80-D/8257-59/Dt.20/3/89.( The Organisation runs a school for children of poor families)
On the purported continuing land imbroglio at GHSS Dimapur, it was pointed out that “the land available on the ground is allotted to the govt. higher secondary school, Dimapur in 2008.”
Meanwhile, on conflicting land reports of DAN land at Super Market Dimapur, the DC said as per govt. approval/letter no LR/3-5/74/Dt.23/10/78 & office order no. Rev-27/70-D/361-63/Dt.19/4/79 plots of land measuring 110-02-10 was allotted to Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN).
He also said that survey carried out by the land record department and PWD on July 23, 2009 contradicted, which showed the difference in the area occupied by DAN. Land records department survey showed the occupied area as 112B-02K-02Ls and by PWD as 114B-02K-6 1/2Ls, the DC added.
