The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has clarified the news item which was published on November 23 alleging Lt. Col Jackson of NSCN/GPRN for violating the covenant of reconciliation.
According to a press note issued here, Asang, former Leacy executive, FGN and Chuva, former Leacy member stated that they were neither kidnapped and neither did Lt. Col Jackson violate the said covenant of reconciliation.
The joint statement also added that they had joined NSCN/GPRN on their own discretion to fulfill the covenant of reconciliation, and added the decision of joining NSCN/GPRN came after they were entrusted to collect fine imposed upon the parents of nine members of FGN who joined the mainstream on September 7 at Reguri village.
The signatories further requested Victor Midan Peyu FGN Pochury Region not to not blame Lt. Col. Jackson and also appealed JWG and FNR not to misunderstand the allegation where FGN Pochury Region “applied for dealing the situation”.
