Prog for widows held at Jalukie
DIMAPUR: Women groups led by WIDEN-N organised a general widows’ prayer meet and celebration to encourage and support widows’ effort to sustain and manage their livelihood. Precila convener said a special day would be observed every year for the widows so that their case and problems could be taken care of. Achingpei Gangmei President WIDEN-N said widows are everyone’s’ neighbor who needed help. Thanpui wife of late M.K. Panmei a steering committee GPRN/NSCN distributed a pack of salt in memory of her husband to each widow who attended the programme. Meanwhile, program organising committee expressed gratitude to 32 Assam Rifles Jalukie for the help extended to make the meet a grand success, SDO (Civil) Jalukie for his help in arranging all accommodation, Izarang CAO Zeliangrong region for providing lunch at the programme. More than 235 participants mostly widows attended the programme.
MCCI on donations
MOKOKCHUNG: Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) has reaffirmed its decision not to allow any individuals, groups, clubs or organizations for forceful sale of raffle tickets, calendars or other items to its members or collect donations from them. This decision was taken keeping in view the habitual incidence occurring in every festive season for the last many years. All MCCI members have been informed to report the matter immediately if any such incident re-occurred despite this notification.
Chetheba jubilee
KOHIMA: Chetheba town would mark its 50th year of existence on December 31 at 10am at Chetheba local ground. Chotisüh Sazo, parliamentary secretary, social welfare and women development, will grace the programme. Citizens of Chetheba town have invited all well wishers to the celebration
Constitution of VVC
Kohima: All village council of Kohima district have been informed that the date for constitution of VVC and submission of models have been extended to March 31, 2011. All village councils have therefore been directed to constitute the cell and formulate their models and submit to the office of district planning machinery on or before the stipulated date.
AASU meeting
DIMAPUR: Aghiinaqa Area Students’ Union (AASU) has convened its 3rd general meeting on December 26, 10am at the residence of Banker, Tohoi village for the forth coming 10th annual session at Yetoho village. All executive members, local presidents and general secretaries have been requested to attend the meeting.
SSU annual session
DIMAPUR: Surumi Students’ Union (SSU) would be holding its 66th annual session from December 28-30 under the theme ‘Restore the past glory of our fore fathers’. Shetoyi Yeptho, MLA Chairman NHHDC would grace the session as chief guest and Kihoto Awomi, sub-inspector (NHG) and Hosheni would be the main speakers of the session. All members have been requested to attend the session.
