Youth Association of Wokha District (YAWD) organized first of its kind music festival in the district on the theme “Music for Hope” at DBHSS Youth Centre Wokha Town on Tuesday.
The fest was witnessed by deputy commissioner Wokha, Rovilatuo Mor and DPO land resources, Wokha Vanchamo Ngullie as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
DC while speaking at evening music fest lauded the association for the initiative and said it was a genuine and noble venture solely for the sake of the HSLC appearing candidates.
Rovilatuo also said human resource development should be given priority stating unless people use human resources, there would be no outcome. He also underscored the importance of human resource development stating it should be inculcated as a part of education.
DPO land resources Wokha, Vanchamo Ngullie and Wonchio Ngullie, Youth Director Wokha Village Baptist Church also spoke at the programme, Renbi Ngullie, tribunal general YAWD pronounced the introductory note and welcome address delivered by Mhonbemo Ngullie, president YAWD.
Youth Association of Nagaland, president, Solomon Awomi and his colleagues were also present at the music fest. Altogether 12 soloist and five bands participated in the competition.
The panel of judges for the music competitions included ‘The Band’ Wokha, convener, Renbeni Ngullie EAC Wokha, Jethro Merry Dimapur, Tamaris Ngullie Kohima and Oren Mozhui Kohima.
Special presentation for the music fest were Lotha Gazetted Officer representative from Wokha, ‘The Band’ Wokha, Ronnie Odyuo Dimapur, Benathung Humtsoe local hero Wokha – 2010, Senkathung Lotha Naga Idol Finalist, Emilo Patton Naga Idol finalist and Aremo Ezung convenor T/Staff YAWD.
