Army nabs NSCN (I-M), KRA cadres

In a joint special operation, the personnel of 5th Battalion (Napier’s) Rajputana Rifles under the aegis of 77 Mountain Brigade/Red Horns division and Assam Police apprehended one NSCN (I-M) cadre and one KRA cadre from the market area of Diphu town on December 25. According to a press release issued by the Indian army, the army personnel, after receiving a tip off that NSCN (I-M) and KRA cadres were arriving Diphu to carryout arms deal with breakaway faction of KLNLF, rushed to the spot and intercepted the cadres at around 4.40 p.m. and later nabbed them. One 01xUS made G3 Rifle was recovered from their possession. The arrested cadres were identified as Amang Kuki (35), self-styled section officer of NSCN (I-M) and a resident of Molvom village, Dimapur and Helun Lhouvum (26), a KRA cadre hailing from Thadouveng, Diphu. The two, on interrogation, disclosed that they belonged to the NSCN (I-M) and KRA groups and had come to Diphu market for arms deal with the anti-talk KLNLF cadres.
