CKT holds 70th general meeting

The Chuchuyimlang kaketshir Telongjem (CKT) held its 70th annual general meeting under the theme “Ku Soyimli Yangertsu Asoshi” at Council Hall on Tuesday. The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. Temsusosang, Deputy Director for Animal Husbandry and the main speaker, A. Atongla Pongen, Divisional Manager for Fu-Com International, Manama City, Kingdom of Bahrain.
While delivering the chief guest address, Dr.Temsusosang exhorted the students to be focused in whatever they undertook.
He also urged the students to strive for socio-economic development of the community at large through various ways and means and shift from dependent existence to self-reliant sustenance. Referring to the Biblical account of Proverbs, the chief guest further advised the gathering to fear God in all stages of life towards achieving their aspiration.
Speaking on the topic: “A student who can pursue the path of contemporary educational trend”, Atongla Pongen opined that the present competitive world was meant for people who were absolutely determined to undertake the extra mile for achieving their goal. While stressing that the world has come of age for survival of the fittest, she urged the students to strive hard in pursuing their education as it was the best tool to achieve their goal. While dwelling on the rapid growth of economy and technology in different parts of the world, the main speaker urged the students to be positive and optimistic by believing in themselves and aim for the highest as nothing was impossible. Atongla further urged the students to become self-reliant.
Deputy Commandant of 1st NAP, Sungit Longkumer who also spoke in the function said that he sees a beacon of hope among the students for a better future. While pointing out that the students’ body was a powerful agency, he urged the students to remain as corrective or vigilant body to curb any disproportionate activity in the society.
The programme also included presentation of awards to successful students. Earlier the opening prayer was delivered by Lima Pastor of Chuchuyimlang Baptist Church (CBC), vote of thanks proposed by Otongdangba and closing prayer by Achila, Associate Pastor (W).
