There was no dearth of funds for Arunachal Pradesh that shares strategic international borders with China, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said in Tawang on Friday.
Chidambaram, who made a three-hour trip to the border town in western Arunachal Pradesh, however, reminded Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu that there must be clarity in all schemes and projects under implemention in the state. “There will be no dearth of funds for this land-locked state.
But there must be clarity in all the projects and schemes to be implemented,” he said at a meeting of government officials.
“Arunachal Pradesh has a special place in our hearts and we will always pay attention for its development on a par with other developed states of the country,” Chidambaram said.
The Home Minister, who flew by a chopper from Guwahati, inaugurated a ropeway connecting the famous Tawang Monastery and the Gyangong Ani Gompa, the latter being a unique Buddhist nunnery. He was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Planning V Narayanaswamy.
