Sungit lauds Rotary Club’s yeomen service

NPCC and sitting State Legislature from Dimapur-II Sungit I. Jamir lauded the Rotarians of Dimapur for their yeomen service rendered to the community.
He was addressing the members of Rotary Club Dimapur as the chief guest at Rotary New Year picnic 2011 which was attended by more than 1500 people .
He lauded the ‘Heart to Heart and Gift of Life’ program that support and provide better health to children suffering with congenial disease which had till now brought new lease of life to 27 children since the inception of the program.
He also handed over a death claim cheque amounting to `25,000 to the mother of the deceased child who was a student of St. Savio School, Chumukedima.
It may be mentioned here that the school is covered under Child Insurance Scheme for school children sponsored by the Club.
The highlights of the day long program included welcome address by chairman picnic committee Rtn. Akokla Pongen Lucy, activities of the club on the past year by president Rtn Sanjay Kumar Jain, games for children, men and women, breakfast and lunch to the taste of all people, dance competition and some special numbers by the youth.
Rotary club of Dimapur extended its appreciation and thanks to DHO, deputy director Horticulture, I/c Green Park, Mughavi and the people of Dimapur, well-wishers for their unflinching support towards the successful organizing of the picnic.
