DREAN meet on January 7
KOHIMA: The Direct Recruit Engineer’s Association of Nagaland (DREAN) PWD has called for an emergency meeting on January 7, 1pm at PWD conference hall. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
YSU golden jubilee
DIMAPUR: Yali Students’ Union (YSU) would be celebrating its golden jubilee from January 12 to 14 with H. Chuba Chang MLA as chief guest and A Chingmak Chang, vice president ENPO as guest of honour. L Ongmang, executive secretary CBLT, S. Chubala, Principal Sao Chang College and Rev. M Chollen, Pastor would be the resource persons. Kaiming, president CKS, Hongkin Chang, president CCSU and Imtimeren Chnag EAC, Ngoungchung would be addressing the gathering. All citizens, in-laws have been requested to attend the jubilee.
TDATA meeting
DIMAPUR: Tuensang District Adhoc Teachers’ Association (TDATA) has convened an executive meeting on January 7, 12 noon at the union treasury. All office bearers, executive members and unit presidents have been requested to attend the meeting.
Education prayer day
DIMAPUR: Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu Women Department (WSBAKWD) council has resolved that the first Thursday of every year would be observed as prayer day for education and knowledge for Sumi churches to be conducted by women department. Meanwhile, the first prayer day for education and knowledge would be held on January 6. All women department of local Churches have been requested to arrange prayer day on Thursday in their respective fellowships.
ASA meeting
DIMAPUR: Alispour Suro Ashimukhong (ASA) has convened a meeting on January 13 and 14, 8:30 am at Alisopur village. All citizens of Alisopur village have been requested to attend the meeting.
5th convention of NACRCFA
KOHIMA: The 5th convention of Northern Angami Christian Revival Church Father’s Association (NACRCFA) would be held from January 28 to 30 at Christian Revival Church, Chiechama. Speakers for the convention would be Rev. Dr. D. L. Sanchu, executive secretary, ACRCCC, Rev. Neivotso Neikha, NE Mission Director NCRCC and Rev. Dr. Neikeduozo Paphino, President NCRCC.
SBAK Nito Mount youth convention
DIMAPUR: The 59th youth convention organized by SBAK Nito Mount would be held from January 7 to 9 at Aghunato Baptist Church, Aghunato town under the theme ‘Reaching a new height’. Rev S Yevito Sumi, executive secretary SBAK, Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, director Sumi Baptist convention, Rev. Aheto Sumi, translation advisor BSI Shillong and Ino Nitoshe Jimo, youth pastor SBC Kohima would be the resource persons. Viniho Yeptho, chairman youth department, Shikuto, youth pastor Atoizu town and Ghosheli, supervisor Satakha town would be the chairpersons of the convention. All members have been requested to attend the convention.
KUD attains 25 years
DIMAPUR: Kami Union Dimapur (KUD) celebrated its silver jubilee on December 18 at CBCD Educational Building, Dimapur under theme ‘Progress through unity’. Neikhrolo Khalo, joint secretary Naga Hoho, Neilo Khape, vice president, Chakhesang Public Organization and Zavesai, president, Chakhesang Hoho Dimapur were the resource persons.
NCP member resigns
DIMAPUR: Vice president, NCP Tuensang, Z. Throngshe Jangrü has tendered resignation from active and primary membership of the party ‘with immediate effect’. In a letter addressed to the president Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Jangrü stated that his resignation was tendered due to ‘personal reason’ and not on the pretext of joining any other political parties.
Prayer fasting program at Wokha
DIMAPUR: A prayer fasting program would be held from January 14 to 16 at Lothatsü Randanphen Longchung, Tsumang Colony, Wokha town under the theme ‘Kija Ejan Elhi (Self responsibility)’. The programme is being initiated by Lothatsü Baptist Randan Okho Wokha.
NIIT Dimapur Centre re-opens
DIMAPUR: All NIITians have been informed that NIIT Dimapur Centre would be reopened on January 5. All B.Sc. (IT) alumni and students of NIIT Dimapur study centre have been requested to attend a special session at the centre along with their parents on January 15, 1pm.
Fathers’ association convention
KOHIMA: The 3rd fathers’ association convention of Angami Christian Revival Council of Churches, hosted by Jakhama CRC would be held from January 7 to 9 at Jakhama village ground.
PRSU10th general session held
KOHIMA: The 10th general session of Peshu Range Students Union (PRSU) was held from January 3 and 4 at Khingjung village with Khaolao, SDIO (Kiphire) and C. Kui, president Thonoknyu Block , VDB’s union as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. The resources persons were S. Chongda, President, Khiamniungan Students Union (KSU) and Puchai PM, Executive Secretary Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC). Around 4000 delegates attended the two day session, stated in a release issued by K. Pukoi, President, Peshu Range Students Union (PRSU).
Phiro Phenshenyu meeting
DIMAPUR: The organising committee for commemoration of 50 years Phiro- Phenshenyu peace treaty would meet on January 8, 10am at Phiro village community hall. All organising committee members and village council members have been requested to attend the meeting.
PVSU session held
KIPHIRE: The 49th Session of Pokphur Village Students’ Union (PVSU) was held from December 27 -30 with T. Kiusu Jamadar VG Thonokyu Hq. as chief guest. The chief guest exhorted the students on ‘Dignity of labour’ and urged them to use their time for the development of the society as well as Pokphur village, which lies under 139 border pillar point having rich mineral resources. He said it was the responsibility of the students’ community to keep “ones pride” and not to fall in the line of poverty. The chief guest donated a sum of Rs.10,000 to the union and one Mithun for the forth coming golden jubilee. He also donated cash of Rs.24,00 to the march past contingent. He was accompanied by Shachu SIS Kiusam Area, Akok and Ritiba assistant Teacher of Government Primary School Kiphire.
Army recruitment result

AAUD meeting
Dimapur: Akuluto Area Union Dimapur (AAUD) has convened a meeting on January 5 at 2 pm at its banker’s residence, Kazheto Kinny at Ikeshe Village.
Meanwhile, union has appointed a selection committee comprising of 12-member team for the ensuing election of office bearers of Akuluto Area Union Dimapur to be held on January 8. The selection committee comprises of president Akuluto Area Union Dimapur, Kakheto Kinny ex- minister (Limthsami), Kheto Kinny MLA.(Lumami), Viheshe Achumi (Lotisa Old), Tokiho Chophi (Maphulumi), Toniho Chophi (Lotisa New), Hotolu Chishi (Sutemi), Kakheho Chishi (Shichimi), Apeto Assumi (Akuluto Town), Hevito Achumi (Alaphumi), Obed Kinny (Zaphumi) and Tohovi Sumi (Sema Settsu).
