ANPSTA Phek unit meet
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland Pre-Service Teachers’ Association (ANPSTA) Phek unit has convened a meeting on January 19, 1pm at DEO office compound, Phek. Unregistered PSTE personal have been requested to contact 8974798460 (vp), 8974997399 (publicity information secy), 8974995631 (treasurer) for further queries. ANPSTA further informed those failing to attend the meeting that the association would not hold any responsibility in case any situation arises.
LMRSU meeting
DIMAPUR: The presidential meeting of Lotha Middle Range Students’ Union (LMRSU) has been convened on January 10, 11am at Kyong Students’ Union (KSU) office Wokha. All unit presidents have been requested to attend the meeting.
NYK Wokha training
DIMAPUR: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Wokha would be organizing vocational training course of 3 months on basic tailoring and sewing operator for both male and female under NCVT at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Wokha. Intending candidates who have passed class-8 may avail application forms at NYK office or may collect the forms from volunteers during office hours. Last date for submission of application forms would be January 15, NYK added.
Kohima DPDB prog
KOHIMA: Members of district planning board development (DPDB) Kohima would be visiting Puliebazde on January 14. District Planning Machinery, Kohima informed members to assemble at Science College junction at 10am. Timings for the programme include arrival at base camp at 10.30am, tea break at 10.30am to 11am, proceed to Peak and Back (Optional) by 11 to 12 noon, meeting at 12 noon, photography and lunch from 1pm to 2 pm and retreat by 2.30 pm.
NTA informs
KOHIMA: Nagaland Taxi Association has informed that yearly registration for 2011 and identity card for taxi owners/drivers has started. In this regard, the NTA notified all taxi owners/drivers to register their vehicles and obtain identity card for the current year.
MSU general conference
KOHIMA: The 61st general conference of Mezoma Students Union (MSU) would be held on January 24 and 25 at village council hall, Mezoma on the theme ‘Fulgens’. Minister for soil and water conservation, land resources, P. Longon would be the chief guest, while Petevilie Khatsü, assistant director of urban development would be the guest of honour. All bonafide members of MSU and citizens of the village have been informed to attend the conference.
Friend’s Club concert postponed
DIMAPUR: Friend’s Club Dimapur gospel concert scheduled on January 8 has been postponed to January 28 due to unavoidable circumstances.
NCRC Sumi council meeting
DIMAPUR: NCRC Sumi council meeting had been convened on January 16 at Pughoboto prayer centre. All executive council, sub-council office bearers, and reverends have been requested to reach HQ on January 15. The members have been further informed that handing and taking over of offices and ordination service for Akhato ‘S’ pastor and Tokheho ‘H’ pastor would also be conducted.
CSDD emergency meeting
Dimapur: Consumer Society Dimapur District (CSDD) has convened an emergency meeting on January 8, 10am at the office premises. All members have been informed to attend the meeting.
Naghutomi prayer day
DIMAPUR: Naghutomi Baptist Church would be conducting Naghutomi prayer day on January 16 from 6am to 12noon. All bonafide members, representatives from different towns and villages have been requested to attend the prayer day.
WVYO annual session
DIMAPUR: Wokha Village Youth Organization (WVYO) would conduct its annual session on January 12-13 at Wokha village ground under the theme ‘Look beyond, act provident’. Anthony Ngullie, SDO (C), ADC designate Wokha and Soren Kikon, CDPO, Wozhuro Wokha would be the chief guest and the guest of honour respectively. All WVYO members, former executive members and elders have been requested to attend the session. Further WVYO has informed that there would be an election of new office bearers for the next tenure and all intending candidate have been requested to collect information from the election commission.
KSU assembly
DIMAPUR: Kyong Students’ Union (KSU) has convened its 5th union assembly on January 11 at LTC hall Wokha. All units, ranges, circles, sub-ordinate units and elders have been requested to attend the assembly.
CNBC day of prayer
DIMAPUR: Council of Naga Baptist Churches (CNBC) would be organizing a day of prayer on January 9. Prayer points include: for year 2011 to be a channel of peace for the whole world and Nagaland, for national worker to abide their commitment of reconciliation of forgive and forget, for Myanmar Naga mission and their sufferings and for CNBC ministry and silver jubilee at Kalinamai Baptist Church (Mao) on March 19-20. All the Naga Churches have been requested to join on the prayer day.
62nd Merangkong Senso Mungdang
KOHIMA: Merangkong Senso Mungdang (MSM) informed that 62nd Merangkong Senso Mungdang would be held on January 14. Every citizens of Merangkong from 16 years of age and above have been informed to attend the meeting. Absentees would be penalized as per standing constitution of Merangkong Senso Mungdang, stated the union.
Construction of houses under KATC
DIMAPUR: Kuhuboto ad-hoc town committee (KATC) has notified all site permit holder under Khekiho colony, Kuhuboto town to construct residential house before January 31 as notified earlier. KATC vice chairman Inaho Sukhalu further informed that failing to comply with the notification would lead to cancellation of site allotment without further notice.
CIG Khuzama grateful
DIMAPUR: Common Interest Group (CIG) Khuzama village under the banner ‘SEDE’ has expressed gratitude to director (ATMA) department of agriculture Ikuto Zhimomi for financially supporting and promoting the group to participate at the NE Agri-expo 2010 under ‘potato restaurant’. While expressing gratitude, the farmers further expressed hope in participating at such exhibitions in the near future.
YYU gospel concert
DIMAPUR: Yaongyimsen Union (YYU) Changtongya town organised a gospel concert on December 30, 2010 at community hall, Yaongyimsen village. Christian music bands ‘Brotherhood Act’ from Changtongya village, x’troopers, upcoming singer Limala, and special guest artist Purkumzük (Naga Idol finalist) enthralled the audience with various genres of Christian music and encouraged the youngsters to live as true Christians.
ASU new team
DIMAPUR: Asuto Students’ Union (ASU) has elected a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2011-12. The team would be headed by Inato X Yeptho as president, Kiyeshe H Aye as general secretary, Kanato A Yeptho as organizing secretary, Helitoli V Wotsa as finance secretary and Aloto H Aye as games & sports secretary.
PSU 66th general session
DIMAPUR: Pfütseromi Students’ Union (PSU) concluded 66th anniversary on December 27, 2010 at the union office complex. The session was graced by additional secretary (home) police, political, state passport cell Wepretso Mero as the chief guest who in his speech encouraged students that time management was the sole path to success. Various programmes and competitions were held during the session wherein certificates and prizes to meritorious students of class-A to 9 and matriculates of 2010 were awarded. The session concluded with election of new office bearers headed by Lhiwepenyi Mero as president and Wemhelo Mero as general secretary.
TWST new team
KOHIMA: Tenyimia Welfare Society Tsiepfiitsiepfhe (TWST) AG Colony, Kohima has elected a new team for next tenure from December 4, 2010 to December 4, 2013. The new team would be headed by Razoukuolie Keretsii- chairman, Tepungosa Sale- vice chairman, Vimetel Sakhrie –general secretary, Keduolhou Koza- joint secretary, Tepusiide Kiso- finance secretary, Kinilo Kath- publicity and information secretary, Pfura Bio- treasurer, and advisors Shihato Kath (Middle), Hokiye Kire GB (Upper) and Zavecho Medeo (Lower), runners Ngolasal Tsiikrii, Johan Koza and Riikhielhoulie Belho and auditors Zapove Naro, Lhouliekho Mejira and Mezhiilhoulie Khezhie.
KDSUD, NVC on Jan 1 incident
DIMAPUR: With regard to the incident on January 1 at 4th mile, the Kiphire district Sumi union Dimapur (KDSUD) and Nihoto village council (NVC) has clarified that the statement was issued without proper consultation of both the parties. Both Kiphire district Sumi union Dimapur and Nihoto village council clarified that “scuffle with kids” under the influence of alcohol as mentioned in the press statement do not arise and that the incident were solved amicably.
ANPSTA Mokokchung unit lauds state govt
DIMAPUR: The All Nagaland Pre-Service Teachers Association (ANPSTA) Mokokchung unit has lauded the government of Nagaland for finally adopting the National Council of Teachers’ Education (NCTE) whereby only trained teachers are to be recruited.
Further, the ANPSTA Mokokchung Unit appealed to all its members to pay their outstanding fees to the association before collecting their admit cards to the recruitment exams to be held on January 20 and requested to contact its finance secretary of the association, Imtimongla for the same.
All executive committee members of the association have been informed to report on time on the day of issuing of admit cards.
SMS slogan competition
DIMAPUR: The Election Commission of India (ECI) in commemoration of its diamond jubilee celebration has declared January 25 as ‘National Voters Day’. For awareness of the people regarding ‘National Voters Day’, an SMS slogan competition was launched from Wednesday. Wati Aier from Kohima with the message “Unless adult franchise is exercise personally for electing a leader, political wisdom and vision are still far from maturity” has been chosen as finalist 4. All bonafide adult citizens can participate by texting at 9402902072 on the theme ‘Greater participation for a stronger Democracy’ within 30 words with senders’ name and address.
