Assembly youth Congress (AYC)-II Dimapur has reminded the state government to review its earlier demand regarding DMC advisory board’s “unconstitutional move” to revise rates on items and two-fold increase on trade licence fee during renewal. In a statement release today, the AYC president Mughavi Swu said despite its earlier demand to re-look and rectify the increased trade licence fee and compulsory sale of calendar worth Rs.300 to business community by DMC the DAN government has continued to maintain “who cares” attitude. “This is sort of nothing but anti-people and a mockery against the norms of Nagaland Municipal Act 2001,” said AYC president. The AYC also alleged that DMC was charging Rs.300 per calendar “as a must” when traders approached DMC office for renewal of trade licence. Observing that any government was for the people, the AYC said the government should therefore have genuine concern for the benefit and wellbeing of the people.
