Kohima DPDB: The monthly meeting of Kohima district planning and development board (DPDB) was held on December 10 at DC’s conference hall, Kohima under the chairmanship of DC Kohima and vice chairman, Kohima DPDB, Bei-u Angami.
The meeting reviewed the last meeting minutes and deliberated on DPDB action calendar 2010-11.
Chairman DPDB, Vikho-o Yhosü apprised the house on formation of Village Vision Cell (VVC), which is to be constituted under each village council under Kohima district.
He further urged all administrative officers to inform villagers and come up with formation of village vision cell so as to expedite the programme as scheduled. The meeting also constituted Verification Committee for LADP 2010-11 in all seven assembly constituencies headed by area administrative officer to be carried out as per administrative jurisdiction and not constituency wise.
SBI bank manager, lead bank office, Kohima district highlighted on banking profile and major central/state programmes which aimed at poverty alleviation and employment generation like PMEGP, SGSY, SJSRY and CMCF.
He further said out of 22 branches operating in Kohima district, 15 branches of commercial banks were linked to the rest of the country through core banking platform. “As far as NRB and NSCB was concerned, they have decided to go on core banking by March 2011. If everything goes on as planned, the entire banking system in Kohima district will be on core by March 2011”, he added.
Bank Manager also apprised the meeting on facilities given by SBI like ATM, debit cards, credit cards, internet banking, mobile/tele banking and providing banking services and facilities to villagers with a population of over 2000.
Peren DPDB meeting: Peren DPDB meeting for the month of December was held on December 10 at DC’s Conference Hall, Peren under the chairmanship of minister for planning & coordination and chairman DPDB, T.R. Zeliang. The Board recommended all heads of departments to submit proposal before Christmas holidays and decided to conduct a seminar on December 14 at Jalukie on the topic ‘Cattle Control’.
Dwelling on the agenda, the board deliberated at length for forest reservation of Ngwalwa ranges and the Board entrusted DC Peren and DFO Peren to sign MoU with village chairmen and head GBs of those villages under Ngwalwa ranges to be witnessed by chairman DPDB and SP Peren.
Board also constituted a sub-committee for survey of boundary line. The committee members include DC Peren- Chairman, DFO-member secretary, superintendent of police-member, land record and survey officer-member, SDO (C) Jalukie -member, SDO (C) Tening –member, EAC Athibung-member, DSO-member, President Zeliangrong Baudi-member, President Kuki INPI-member.
The Board also recommended proposal for opening of school at Songluh and Athibung. Earlier, reports on departmental activities of PHE Peren and irrigation & flood control were presented by executive engineer PHE and executive engineer, irrigation & flood control Peren respectively.
