The Centre has sanctioned Rs 470.20 crore for road projects in Assam, official sources informed here today. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways sanctioned road projects for the work of two-laning of Lumding-Diphu-Manja road, Haflong-Jatinga road, Baska-Bamara road, Morigaon-Jagiroad road, Kokrajhar-Karigaon road and Udalguri-Rowta road in Assam under phase A of SARDP-NE. This has been informed by Union Minister for Road Transport Highways Kamal Nath in a letter written to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi following a meeting in New Delhi. The letter informed that Rs 470.20 crore had been sanctioned for this purpose and the state PWD will be the executing agency for the project.
