NNC/FGN has clarified on defection of Sumi region NNC /FGN (Accordist) member to (Non- Accordist) which was published in local dailies on December 12.
Deputy secretary, ministry “Rali-Wali” FGN Bendang Sangtam in a press note clarified that “Brigadier” Tokugha Zhimo, son of Lt. Satovi Zhimo of Lizu Old under Zunheboto district first joined the NSCN/GPRN (IM) during the 90s and was allegedly expelled within a short span by the government.
Tokugha Zhimo also joined NNC/FGN Kohima transit peace campers fold during the 90s and later defected to NNC/FGN under the leadership of Brigadier (Retd) S. Singnya, the press note stated. The deputy secretary also stated the person in question had been discharged from national service by the FGN on December 8 on the ground of anti-government activities, misuse of power and financial misappropriation.
The government had earlier relieved and served him the release order from 6th Brigadier, southern command, Naga Army, FGN on November 5 for his “irreparable and disoriented” conduct among his fellow national workers.
The deputy secretary further clarified the “person in question” claiming to have defected to NNC under the leadership of Dr. Senka with more than 50 cadres was “total fallacy” and condemning the infamous Shillong accord as a justification for his defection was nothing but an ignorant implication and should be relaying the matter of the Shillong Accord to Adino Phizo.
The FGN in a press note further informed public not to entertain such person in future to avoid breeding anti social elements and confusion and termed the “Brigadier” Tokugha Zhimo’s defection as a “fruitless attempt” in sabotaging the Naga peace process.
NNC (Non-Accordist) clarifies: In response to the news item that appeared on December 9 on the termination order of 3 NNC (Non-Accordist) members, vice president NNC (NA) K. Yimchunger has refuted stating the termination order was given without proper enquiry by CECM.
The signatory further maintained that since no tinge of malice was found against Sumi region president and treasure as was alleged, the central committee board has decided to reinstate Ghosuho Tucci president, and Vizheto Chishi treasurer NNC (NA) in their respected posts.
