A steel almirah and Christmas gifts were donated to the inmates of Sisterhood Network at Burma Camp, Dimapur, on December 2 by SBI. The gifts were handed over by president of SBI Ladies Club, Geetam Sarma, wife of B. J. Sarma, general manager (NW-II), State Bank of India, Local Head Office, North Eastern Circle.
Sarma said State Bank of India was happy to reach out to the needy, especially women and young girls from the weaker section of the society. She praised Sisterhood Network for taking care of the young poor girls to be self independent by training them in different traits.
She also mentioned that SBI Ladies Club Guwahati was running a tailoring unit for the women of the similar category to empower them to become self independent and earn for their living.
The short programme for handing over the items was chaired by Alongla Aier, Consultant-Director, Sisterhood Network. She thanked State Bank of India for the donation and also all officials of the Bank for their involvement and help.
She said the almirah will help showcase all finished products for storage and display which used to be kept in carton boxes earlier.
A Christmas carol song was presented by the inmates of Sisterhood Network.
Sarma gave away Christmas gifts to all the inmates of Sisterhood Network individually.
