Parliamentary secretary for geology and mining Y. Patton on Tuesday called upon students, unemployed youth to avail the opportunity provided by DAN government. Patton said 4 legislators from Wokha, were initiating to help students in developing infrastructure of the area to yield better result.
Exhorting Kyong students at silver jubilee-cum-9th general conference of Lotha Middle Range Students’ Union (LLRSU) on the theme “perseverance” at Lakhuti village, Patton urged students from 23 units under LLRSU to produce good results in academic field at the present competitive age while assuring them to extend support to those who excelled in academics. Earlier, Patton also unveiled LMRSU jubilee stone at Sanis Town and donated `1lakh to LMRSU, `5000 each to 3 Churches in Lakhuti; `5000 for groups who presented special songs; `10,000 to Lakhuti Students Union, `20,000 to Lakhuti Village Council and `1000 each to the elders (men and women) of Lakhuti Village. Deputy Speaker, NLA, Ralanthung Yanthan who was the chief host said peace in the state was possible due to leadership of state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio. Challenging the students to produce good result, Ralanthung said only way to success was hard work and sacrifice. Joint secretary, youth resources and sports, T. Mhabemo Yanthan, general secretary Kyong Hoho, Michael Yanthan president Kyong Students Union, Yiben Humtsoe and founding president, LMRSU, Robin Lotha also spoke at the conference.
