PDS scheme dominate Kiphire DPDB meet

District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at DC Chamber Kiphire with DC Kiphire C.M Tsanglao as the chairperson.
The meeting was attended by almost all the head of departments of Kiphire district.
CM Tsanglao expressed inability to award prize money of one lakh for the “Best Ward” in Kiphire as promised earlier in DPDB due to disappointing developmental works in all the wards. He however, called upon the members to adapt civic sense and maintain hygienic lifestyle.
He however informed that in order to keep the town clean and dirt free, there will be a general social work in Kiphire town on December 18 and asked all heads of department to take initiative during the social work. District Planning Officer (DPO) Kiphire expressed unhappiness over failure of the departments to submit departmental profile in time.
Superintendent of Supply (SOS) Kiphire gave power point presentation and explained in detail of how APL, BPL, AYA and Anarpurna were being distributed in the district.
Responding to the queries put forward by DPDB members, Superintendent of Supply (SOS) Kiphire said due to transportation problem, PDS could be distributed twice or thrice in a year. Athrila Sangtam SDO(C) Hq. and Er. Namang Subong Chang EAC Kiusam questioned on why ration card was not distributed to the public and as to how ration card distribution system was beyond the reach of the public.
While highlighting on the district A. Neoji Yim, advisor, Kiphire Town Council (KTC) queried the SOS on not executing PDS properly in the district, and said proper distribution system should be maintained in future.
The meeting unanimously recommended for up gradation of Agape School Kiphire to upper primary for approval to the department in charge.
