Joint Working Group (JWG) and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) during its meeting on Wednesday deliberated on the agenda of coordination and the logistics for the highest level leaders’ meeting.
The JWG and FNR have appealed all Naga national workers and organizations to render full support and maintain discipline of conduct in preparation of the meeting. They have also called upon all to create a conducive atmosphere.
According to a joint statement from JWG conveners Zhopra Vero (FGN/NNC), Singson (GPRN/NSCN) and Vikiye Sumi on behalf of Gen. (Retd) VS Atem (NSCN I-M), the signatories of the Covenant of Reconciliation wholeheartedly advocated the meeting of the “highest level leaders” at the earliest within the stipulated time frame. They said the Naga Reconciliation: A Journey of Common hope has travelled for 34 months.
JWG said that the season of Advent was also the “Peace of God” which was more than absence of threats and killings. It said peace was a positive word of deliverance and that it meant blessing, healing and well-being. Peace also implied freedom through repentance and forgiveness, all in one. “This kind of peace is a way of life for people who’ve chosen to walk the path of reconciliation. This is our sincere wish to all during this festive season,” the JWG said.
It may be mentioned that leaders of the GPRN/NSCN, NNC/FGN and NNC met at Khehoi camp on Tuesday and issued a joint declaration committing to “unconditional unity.”
