After having agreed on unity, the three Naga organizations- GPRN/NSCN, NNC and FGN- have jointly issued a ban order on collections and donations of all kinds and any kind of taxation on shopkeepers and business establishments, whether by civil or military workers in Dimapur and other parts of Nagaland.
According to a joint declaration made by the publicity wings of the three groups on December 14, the objective of the ban order was to control spiraling demands and donations on the business community by various anti-social elements in Dimapur and other parts of Nagaland.
The joint statement stated that their respective leadership have expressed serious concern over reports that rampant taxation and donations were being collected from shopkeepers and business establishments by individuals, gangs and criminals posing as representatives of political groups. The signatories asserted that the alarming growth of anti-social elements, taking undue advantage of peaceful environment, has dented the image of Naga national workers.
Keeping in mind the huge burden placed on the general public, the three have decided to slap a total ban and informed that any demand for donation may be considered as “illegal and unauthorized.” The three Naga political groups said any national worker or non-national worker indulging in anti-national activity will be liable for stringent punishment. Shopkeepers/commercial establishments have been requested to report immediately to any authority in the kilonser status among the three political groups.
