Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has sought immediate intervention and necessary action of Nagaland chief minister concerning atrocities meted out to NE students at Delhi and other parts of India
In a representation to state chief minister, the NSF said it was very unfortunate that there have been frequent incidents of atrocities, molestation and assaults on students of NE region in New Delhi.
“The situation has become so tense and serious and one of such serious incident is murdering of one Manipuri student at Munirka in New Delhi in Nov. 2009,” the NSF representation stated. Pointing out that although government had vehemently denounced such incidents at different level, the federation said north east communities continued to suffer shock and panic as racial attacks and sexual assaults continued unabated.
Substantiating several facts and figure with regard to recent incidents, the NSF urged the chief minister to intervene urgently and take “needful effective steps” which could give mental, social and physical security to the people of North East India.
