Clarifying its stand on reconciliation against the backdrop of unity declared by three Naga national groups-GPRN/NSCN,NN/FGN (Brig.Retd)Singya and NNC- the NSCN/GPRN(NSCN-IM) has described the “declared unification without condition” by the three was “ an attempt to override and undermine the Chiangmai agreement”. The MIP/GPRN in a statement, said it felt necessary to make its stand “very clear” so that there was no misinterpretation by the public with regard to the December 14 meeting held between the three above mentioned groups at Khehoi camp. Asserting that it valued and upheld the reconciliation and unity “on the basis of historical and political rights of the Nagas”, the MIP maintained that it “can never be part of such unification process from the backdoor.” Further, the NSCN(I-M)has however said it will “stand by” its commitment to be part of the highest level leaders meeting as initiated by the FNR.
