HM inaugurates Police Referral Hospital

Home minister, Imkong L. Imchen on Friday inaugurated 40-bedded Police Referral Hospital at Chumukedima.
Imchen lauded the efforts of the DGP, K. Kire, commissioner and secretary, H&FW Menukhol John and Dr Sashimeren Aier Medical Consultant, Police Department in realizing the Referral Hospital. He expressed hope that the police and their family members would be immensely benefited through the hospital stating that they deserved good attention.
DGP K Kire said that the hospital was built with the effort of the police department and the National Rural Health Mission. Stating that health was one aspect where the police have not seriously looked into in the past, he was optimistic that the Police Referral Hospital would render good services not only to the police but to those villagers nearby. He requested the health official posted at the hospital to perform their duties with a human touch.
Commissioner and secretary, H&FW Menukhol John said that the department would like to partner with the hospital to tackle malaria and dengue cases since the area was prone to these diseases. He urged the staff of the hospital to emphasize on preventive measures rather than curative measures.
Earlier, Medical Consultant, Police Department, Dr Sashimeren Aier gave a brief account on the establishment of Police Referral Hospital. CMO Police Referral Hospital, Dr. Adaho Mao delivered the vote of thanks.
After the inauguration programme, home minister Imkong L. Imchen inspected the hospital. The hospital has 10 doctors including six specialists.
