ANCSU: All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has convened its emergency meeting on December 21, 11am. All executives, union assembly and tribunals have been requested to attend the meeting.
KEHW: Kyong Eloe Hoho Wokha (KEHW) has convened its executive, advisory board members, president and secretaries of Eloe Ekhung Kohima and Dimapur meeting on January 8, 10am at Kyong Eloe Hoho office Wokha.
RSU golden jubilee: Riizazhomi Students’ Union (RSU) would be celebrating its golden jubilee from December 29-30 under the theme ‘Venture into a new horizon’. Kiizholiizo Nienu, Minister Health & Family Welfare Nagaland, Deo Nukhu, MLA & Advisor, Science & Technology, New & Renewable Energy, Art & Culture Nagaland would be the cultural guests and Er Vekho Swiiro, Executive Engineer, CAWD Kohima would be the speaker.
URF Christmas celebration: United Revival Fellowship (URF) Dimapur would celebrate Christmas at United Baptist Churches Association (UBCA) Kothakuthi mission centre Goalpara Assam on December 23 to 25 under the theme ‘Our saviour has come’. The occasion would be sponsored by Er. Shikato Jakhalu and family in memoriam of late Shokhuyi Aye where 29 churches under UBCA would be attending the celebration. Resource persons would be director SBC Rev. Dr. Hevukhu, mission in-charge URF pastor N.Khekiye Aye, and treasurer URF Vikheto Assumi.
UBC winter show: Youth department of United Baptist Church (UBC) Balijan near LRC Dimapur organised ‘winter sentional show’ at IMC hall Dimapur on December 17. President youth association of Nagaland (YAN) Solomon Awomi graced the occasion as chief guest. The youth department has expressed gratitude to Ayala Jamir and higher ground band, and all participants for the success of the show.
CMT joint session: Chingmei Mütli Thangjam (CMT) Tuensang would be holding 1st general citizen-cum-students’ union session at Chingmei village from January 6 to 9, 2011. All citizens and students from class VIII and above of Chingmei village have been made compulsory to attend the session failing which a fine of `1,500 and `500 would be imposed respectively. In this regard, offices, institutions, departments and the like have been requested to consider with employees and students of the village during the session. Meanwhile, president CMT informed that free medical check up and medicines would be distributed on January 7 and 8 under practitioner of herbal medicines physiotherapist IBAM/RMP Kolkata, Dr. M.Chollen Chang.
NST bus service for Chiechama Baptist centenary: In view of Chiechama Baptist centenary, free NST bus would be provided on December 19 at 8am from respective junction and back to Kohima after the evening service. Buses could be availed at PHQ junction, Old MLA junction, Old NST station, Tinpatti junction and High School junction. All person wishing to attend the centenary celebration at Chiechama village have been requested to avail free NST bus service.
Pre- Christmas celebration: Officer’s hill youth organization Kohima would be observing pre- Christmas celebration on December 19 at Kohima Law College from 4pm onwards. All the residents of the colony have been asked to join the celebration.
ANPDMR and BAA silver jubilee: All Nagaland Power Department Meter Reader and Bill Assistant Association (ANPDMR and BAA) celebrated its silver jubilee on December 10 at Ungma Kiti, old ministers’ hill Kohima. Meanwhile, the bench of central officers of the association has conveyed Christmas and New Year greetings to all officers and staff of the department and to the Nagas in general.
MSU conference: The 48th annual general conference of Mao Students Union would be held from December 28 to 31 at Punanamei local ground, hosted by Punanamei Students Union on the theme “Enterprise our Resource”. The inaugural function would be attended by KV Pusa, MLA former NPCC President as the chief guest and Vikho Yhoshu, MLA Adviser IT and TE and Samson Ramei President UNC as guest of honours. The chief guest for valedictory function would be Mutsikhoyo Yhobu, President Naga Students Federation and Kapani Krichena, Tribunal NSF.
Thesuohie Mere passes away
DIMAPUR: T. Mere (Thesuohie Mere) Dy. S.P. INT (Police Hq. Kohima) and former Officer in Charge of East Police Station passed away on December 17 after a prolonged illness. Late Mere was laid to rest at the family residence, Chumukedima Town, Ward-10, Block-4 December 18. T. Mere was laid to rest after a guard of honour by NAP (IR). He is survived by his wife, 3 sons and 1 daughter.
NPC extends Christmas greetings
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Peace Centre (NPC) has extended Christmas greetings to all Christians in the world. NPC in a press note issued by Chairman N. Theyo while extending greetings said “Let us also remember and understand that the coming of Christ is to bring reconciliation and peace between God and men, man to man, nation to nation”. NPC stated that many people try to bring peace by means of violence economic and political liberation, yet all these factors cannot bring lasting peace which every human was longing for. “A lasting peace can be realized only though the very person of Jesus Christ”, NPC added.
National South Asia Peace Camp
DIMAPUR: The National South Asia Peace camp organized under National youth project, Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi is scheduled to be held at Noakhali, Bangladesh from December 19-25. The Nagaland Peace Centre has proposed to send two members to represent Nagaland in South Asia Peace Camp. Selected participants from across the country would be representing under the guidance of Dr. S N Subba Rao, Director, National Youth Project, New Delhi.
ANTA elects new team
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Kohima has elected new team of office bearers with Vivor Miacheo-o as president, Medo Keyie as joint secretary, Salie Zhotso as treasurer, Asobu Khezhie as finance secretary, and Keniengutuo Chielie as advisor ex-president.
KEH organizes IPC campaign
DIMAPUR: Kyong Eloe Hoho (KEH) Wokha organised IPC campaign covering the lower range from December 11 to 15 being sponsored by NSACS. Resource persons were Dr. Abenthung Murry, Dr. Pithungo Kikon, Robin Ezung, Elhibemo Patton, Zuchopeni, Yanbeni, Lovungi, Robin Enny, and Achum Patton. Meanwhile, KEH informed that the remaining area at Baghty and Merapani would be conducted from January 4 to 6, 2011.
NGRC-I CU office closure
DIMAPUR: President Nagaland Government Registered Class-I Contractors’ Union (NGRC-I CU) informed that the union office would remain close from December 20 till January 7, 2011 in lieu of Christmas and New Year celebrations. Meanwhile, the union celebrated pre-Christmas at its union office on December 15 where Christmas message was delivered by legal advisor Kezhokhoto Savi, advocate and chaired by president NGRC-I CU, K. C. Angami. Office bearers of the union, while expressing gratitude to all members for their co-operation towards the union, have further conveyed festive greetings.
