A man allegedly died of a heart attack after being stuck in traffic in the national Capital. His family says Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's convoy delayed his reaching hospital at Rajghat. Security for politicians claimed another life in the National Capital.
The victim, Anil Jain's family has blamed the PM's security for his death. They say, Anil, who had suffered a heart attack was forced to wait for nearly half an hour because traffic was brought to a halt near Rajghat as the PM's convoy was passing through the area.
The patient was denied treatment at two of the city hospital due to lack of facilities before he started for JB Pant hospital. According to the doctors, they could have saved the patient if he had been brought in a little early.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) ordered an inquiry into the incident. “The PMO has ordered an inquiry into the matter,” a senior PMO official told IANS.
In November 2009, a patient in critical condition had died in Chandigarh as he could not enter the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research as the prime minister was visiting the facility and tight security was in place.
