ANEFWA calls off sit-in

All Nagaland electricity field workers association (ANEFWA) has called off its planned sit-in following pay release. ANEFWA December 16 last declared to initiate sit-in December 25 if government failed to fulfill its demands, which included payment of salary to work-charged employees under power department before Christmas and filling up of all categories of technical posts arising out of retirement/death of staffs. In a statement released here, the ANEFWA president Panger Pongen assured state government and its machineries as well as public that association would be more devoted and sincere in their assigned duties. Meanwhile, the association has acknowledged and thanked state chief minister Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet colleagues, power minister Doshehe, various top government officials, power department, media, CANSSEA, NSF, all NGOs, their legal consultant and general public for all the help as a result of which their demand for payment of salary for work charged employees under Power department has been released. It also conveyed a Christmas and New Year greetings to all the citizens of Nagaland.
