Naga National Council (Non Accordist) and NNC (Lotha Regional Council) Wednesday reacted to a joint statement of three NNC regions’ presidents, published in a local daily January 16, who had questioned the integrity of the process that produced the agreement of “unconditional unity”, reached among the GPRN/NSCN, NNC/FGN and NNC on December 14 last year. According to publicity wing of the NNC, those three “self style leaders” of Lotha, Angami and Ao regions namely Chumbemo Khenchung, Chosel and I. Teka Soyah, “have no way to oppose or against on Nagas’ ‘unconditional unity’”, as Naga unity was not for single region, tribe or individual but for entire Nagas. The NNC’s central executive council stated that the names of those three were not mentioned in the CEC. It also urged “self style leaders” not to worry about Nagas “unconditional unity.” Meanwhile, the NNC (LRC), in a joint press statement issued by five members, said the December 14, 2010 agreement was made by genuine officiated members of LRC, NNC. Hence, the signatories requested general public not to be misled by “some vested interests intend on creating confusion.” The NNC (LRC) also stated that alleged Lotha Regional Council Chumbemo Khenchung was “self styled president”.
