Against the backdrop of the recent development in the state’s political arena after the “merger” of two Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) legislators with the ruling Naga People’s Front (NPF), highly placed sources in the NCP Friday said the party was all out to revamp its party structure in the state.
Sources also informed that the NCP was recruiting new members into its fold, while others confirmed that former minister of transport Imtilemba Sangtam was likely to join the NCP formally in a few days time.
It was also learnt that Sangtam had called on the national secretary of NCP Dr. Jimmy George, who is in the state to attend the party executive committee meeting with NCP northeast secretary general Neiba Ndang and state working president Er. Levi Rengma on Friday. The possibility of other leaders joining the NCP could not be ruled out, the sources added.
