Creating fire safety awareness

In accordance with directive of the ministry of home affairs, directorate general civil defence (DGCD) (Fire Project Cell), government of India, a national level fire and evacuation drill was conducted at Mezhur Higher Secondary School, Kohima on Friday.
The drill was organized by Nagaland Fire and Emergency Services, Kohima, Nagaland.
The purpose of the drill was to create fire safety awareness amongst the school staff and students. Accordingly the School Fire Management Team (SFMC) and sub-teams were formed and assigned with specific roles and responsibilities. The teams were, school fire management committee (SFMC), awareness campaign team, fire alarming team, search and rescue team, fire fighting team, first aid team, site safety team, transport management team, media management team.
Different type of drills conducted were, fire evacuation drill, drop cover hold drill, safety consideration drill, and fire fighting drill.
