AKM conference concludes

The valedictory session of the 65th AKM general conference was held Friday evening with MLA and Chairman NIDC & Nagaland Hotels Ltd., Nuklutoshi formally declaring the conference close.
Speaking at the function, the MLA said youth was the age of achievement.
He further put in that the world today is an “economic driven global world” and that if the youth lived a casual life then they would never catch up with the rest of the world.
Describing the world today is opting for economic driven sovereignty, he elucidated the gathering that parents were just to facilitate and that it was up to the youth to find fend for themselves.
He further encouraged the students saying since the time of forefather’s, the Aos were hardworking, truthful with were defined culture and traditions.
“May be this is why even God may have blessed the Aos for being the first to receive the gospel as well as education amongst the Nagas”, he added.
He said the schemes introduced for the youth by DAN govt. led by Neihpiu Rio was up to them to make it successful or not. In this regard, MLA called upon the youth to set an exemplary role and to retain the legacy of the forefathers and lead the Nagas out of the darkness.
NSF president Mutsikhoyo Yhobu who exhorted the gathering wished the new team of AKM office bearers to lead in the right perspective.
Making a clarion call to the gathering, Mutsikhoyo said “Let us maintain the spirit of brotherhood among the Nagas”.
Meanwhile, results of various competitions during the conference were announced and the prizes given away by the MLA.
The following are winners in various categories of competition:
Debate - 1st - Arenlila OKM, 2nd - Merensangba AKTM, 3rd - Imliben Lemtur Dimapur Ao Students.
Extempore Speech - 1st Limatemsu Aier AKTM - 2nd Merensangla LKM, 3rd - Temjennungla Chumukedima Ao Students.
The valedictory session also saw the nomination of the new team of office bearers for the tenure 2011-2014 to be led by: president - Ngangshikokba Lkr (OKM), general secretary - Bendang Walling (JKM)
The next 66th general conference of AKM will be hosted at Chuchuyimpang village.
