Chief medical officer (CMO) Dr. Sukhato A. Sema informed that first round IPPI (polio) would be held on January 23 in Dimapur district. In view of this medical officers, vaccinators, and health workers have been reoriented and trained, CMO added. All parents and guardians have been requested to bring their children (0-5 years) to the nearest polio booth for polio immunization from 8am to 3pm. The department has further appealed the public to co-operatefor the success of the forth coming IPPI round.
Meanwhile, District Immunization Officer (DIO) Dimapur, Dr. Chelie informed that department has set up polio booths in all the wards and colonies, important junctions and exit points for the day long programme.
MON: In view of the Intensive Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) programme to be held from January 23, DC Mon Dinesh Kumar has directed all the administrative officers under Mon to monitor and supervise the campaign, visit IPPI booths and submit reports to the DC. All health workers and ASHAs have also been directed to cover house to house on January 24 and 25 to check children who were left out. The DC also stated that block wise medical officers have been appointed to carry out the exercise of all children between 0-5 years under Mon district.
