The ongoing SBAK Nito Mount Zunheboto revival hour at Philimi village saw a huge spiritual awakening since it began on January 21.
Scores of people including youth, fathers, mothers committed their lives to God and confessed their sins.
In the evening session, URF director, Rev. Shekiye Achumi spoke on the importance of continually re-igniting and filtering their spiritual life.
He pointed out that outwardly, believers pretend to work for others but inwardly they were selfish. He cautioned the congregation of the impending dangers/sin ahead if they harbored such attitude.
Rev. Shekiye also told the people that ‘sin’ was ever present at their doorstep and urged them to guard themselves against ‘sin.’
Stating the current society was witnessing lesser new believers, the speaker was of the opinion that ‘sin’ at their doorstep was preventing them reaching out to God.
Rev. Shekiye’s preaching witnessed scores of people confessing their sins and making personal commitment with God.
In the morning service, SBAK youth director, Dr. Hokheto Chophi said revival hour first began in 1857 at North America which gradually spread worldwide and came to Nagaland through the American missionaries.
He said when spiritual awakening first reached the state those who chose the new life were strong in their faith that they chose persecution instead of giving up the spiritual awakening. He however lamented that such believers were not to be found these days and urged the people to strengthen their faith.
Speaking on the theme, “Hear my voice,” he urged the people to differentiate between Godly voice and the human voice.
He said God’s voice though faint is dynamic and full of wisdom.
DEO (Retd) Dimapur, Vikuto Wotsa delivered the greetings. Niza Lejo group presented special numbers in all the sessions.
Altogether 85 stewards, counselors, SBAK staff and planning board members led by its convener, Zhutovi are overseeing the entire programme for its success.
