About four days after a physically challenged vegetable trader was abducted by car-borne unidentified miscreants January 19 last, his whereabouts remained unknown even as police continued searches.
Family sources said kidnappers were demanding ransom for his release. However, they did not reveal how much kidnappers were demanding.
Meanwhile, the vegetable retailers and wholesalers, who had shuttered in protest against the kidnapping of its member since January 19, opened their shops Saturday observing inconvenience being faced by consumers in Dimapur town and beyond.
The Murgi Patti house owners’ and business union has, however, said they were seriously considering to initiate second stage protest if its member was not set free by January 25.
The victim, identified as Jiyalal was whisked away by miscreants from Dhobi Nala January 19 morning.
