ABCC youth convention

Thousands of youth from Churches under Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC) gathered Sunday to celebrate youth convention of ABCC youth department.
The convention, which started from January 21 is being celebrated under the theme ‘Come Follow Me: Mark 1:17’
Speaking on the theme “Imitating Christ: Servanthood” on Sunday morning, guest speaker Denise De Vasconcelos Araujo, president of BWA Youth from Brazil, said servanthood meant humbling oneself and becoming servants even as leaders.
Referring to Philippians chapter 2 from the Bible, Denise said servanthood of Jesus Christ required humility that knew the right measure. She also underlined the importance of team spirit without any selfish attitude.
The speaker asserted the responsibility of youth leaders to bring his youth towards Christ. Denise also talked of the importance of discipleship, stating that Jesus’ teachings were not based on hierarchical leadership but to compliment each other as servants of God.
Earlier, Rev. Iringtie Kauring, youth secretary of Nagaland Baptist Church Council spoke during the service. Songs were presented by CBKK choir, cultural vibrant and Lhouvirielie Üsou. ABCC youth convention is held after every five years.
ABCC has 6 youth wings under its youth department. The ongoing youth convention is being hosted by Kohima Baptist Youth Fellowship.
