GOC, IGAR (N) extend R-Day greetings

DIMAPUR: On the occasion of Republic Day on January 26, GOC 3 Corps Lt Gen NK Singh, has conveyed greetings and best wishes to all the people of Nagaland and all the ranks of security forces.
Gen. Singh, in a defence handout , said over the years armed forces along with the people and various government agencies have worked together for overall growth and development of the region.
He prayed for successful accomplishment of the aspirations of peace and development in all the states of North East India on the solemn and auspicious occasion.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR-N) Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, also wished happiness and prosperity to all the people of Nagaland, NGOs, Churches and all security forces. IGAR (N) PRO said the general also expressed hope the ongoing peace and tranquility in the state would continue and usher in a new era of happiness and prosperity. IGAR (N) urged all to remember the valiant heroes who laid down their lives for the freedom of the country.
House gutted in inferno
DIMAPUR, Jan 25 (NPN): A house was completely destroyed in fire that broke out at L. Hetovi village under Dimapur district Tuesday around 8.35 pm. According to fire brigade sources, the house belonged to one GB identified as H. Hokito Sumi. Sources also disclosed that the fire suspected to have started due to short circuit in the house. Two fire tenders were immediately pressed in to douse off the inferno. Properties worth about 4 lakh was destroyed, sources added.
