Strongly rejecting the modified qualification relaxation for recruitment of teachers under Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire, Longleng, Peren and Meluri sub-division, the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has decided to boycott the teachers recruitment on February 3 on grounds that the relaxation was “manipulated, fragmented and modified.” The ENSF has directed its six federating units to boycott the teachers recruitment.
ENSF recalled that it had submitted a representation to the education department to implement the New Teachers Recruitment Policy wherein relaxation was exclusively accorded to the six tribes of Chang, Konyak, Khiamniungan, Yimchunger, Sangtam and Phom for 10 years. It, however, said such relaxation as recently done would only create more confusion and resentment towards the department concerned rather than solving the issue/problem at hand.
Further, the ENSF reminded the department to clearly and authentically re-advertise the exact number of resultant vacancies in the four district of Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng as the recent advertised post was “very less” and did not tally compared to the total resultant vacancies created of the Nagaland Retirement/Superannuation Act 2009 recorded in the four districts. It asked the department to re-advertise the accurate and authentic number of post before the initiating the recruitment process.
The ENSF said it would pursue till its request for implementation of the relaxation notification was “fully maintained.”
