Rev. Fr. John Med sdb passes away

Don Bosco Alumni Dimapur Provincial Federation (DBADPF) mourned the demise of Rev. Fr. John Med sdb. Funeral service of late Rev. Fr. John Med would be held at on January 28, 10am at Salesian College, Kuda Village, Dimapur.
DBADPF conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members, relatives, friends, well-wishers, students and the Salesian family.
A condolence message issued by Provincial Secretary, Don Bosco Alumni Dr. Stephen Kamson stated late Rev. Fr. John Med was a missionary par excellence who left the comfort of his home to give his life for the missions in India.
Born in April 13, 1916 in Czech Republic he made his First Religious Profession on July 31, 1934 and was ordained a Priest of Catholic Church in Salesian congregation on January 7, 1943.
He was the first director of the First Seminary in Tirupatur and the First Rector of the Don Bosco College in India at Tirupatur. He was Provincial of the Salesian Society for entire South India till he volunteered to come to work in the North East in1965 and reached Manipur in 1978.
During the period of his dedicated Religious Life spanning over 77 years, late Rev. Fr. John med sdb served the people of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland and Manipur.
He is most loved by the people of Senapati district in Manipur where he pioneered the centre in Senapati.
Till date, he had been a benefactor to many poor students and even today there are 900 children whose education he was assisting by offering Scholarships.
A condolence message further added that his demise was an irreparable loss to all.
