Minister for urban development and higher education Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu re-launched the official website of Wokha district ( here at the National Informatics Centre (NIC) at Wokha deputy commissioner’s office, Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shürhozelie said the re-launching of the website was for the good of the district as it would act as a pocket dictionary of reference for the district.
Lamenting that even among the educated, many still lacked computer knowledge, Dr. Shürhozelie urged the gathering to take advantage of the advancement in technology to upgrade their knowledge bases.
Appealing all to come forward in making the website successful and meaningful by giving right information, Dr. Shürhozelie also asked the district officials concerned to keep upgrading the information in the website. Earlier, a brief description of the website was given by Wokha NIC district information officer George Kath Rengma while a detailed presentation was given by assistant engineer Y. Orenthung Kikon.
Wokha district is the first district in the state to re-launch its official website which was non-functional for some time since it was launched in the year 2000.
The re-launching website is a storehouse of information on Wokha district with information ranging from villages’ profile to departments’ profile included.
The re-launch of the district website ahead of others owes much to the dynamic initiative and supervision of SDO (C) Wokha Vyasan R, IAS.
Dignitaries present at the re-launching programme were DC Wokha Rovilatuo Mor, SP Wokha Sejong Sangtam, ADC Wokha Athel O. Lotha, NPF vice president Pinyimthung Patton, besides other district officials and public leaders.
