LPWD Panchayat meeting
KOHIMA: A general body meeting of all residents of lower PWD colony has been convened on February 3, 7:30 am at new Panchayat building to elect office bearers of Panchayat body for the tenure 2011-13. All residents of the colony have been asked to attend the meeting.
DCC member joins NPF party
KOHIMA: NPF 20th A/C Meluri has informed that Rholetho Ngouri, joint secretary DCC Phek had tendered resignation from the post and primary and active member of the Congress party. The resigned member further resolved to join NPF party and strengthen the leadership of Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu and state chief minister Neiphiu Rio.
Tuensang VHCs conference
DIMAPUR: A conference of the chairmen and secretaries of health centre management committee, sub-centre village health committee, village health committee of village health and sanitation committee under Tuensang district has been convened on February 9, 10am at conference hall of chief medical officer’s office, Tuensang. Deputy chief medical officer, Tuensang, Dr. Thanghoi has requested all members to attend the meeting.
WVYO new office bearers
DIMAPUR: Wokha Village Youth Organization (WVYO) elected new office bearers during the 5th general conference held on January 12-13 for the tenure 2011-2013. The new team would be led by Mhomo Murry as president, Chonben Erui as general secretary, Myingthungo Murry as finance secretary, Thungjanbemo Murry as organizing secretary and Chiben Kikon as games and sports secretary.
LVGEU general meeting
DIMAPUR: Longla Village Government Employees Union (LVGEU) has convened a general meeting on February 5, 9am at the residence of N Nzanbemo Ngullie (blue hill Wokha), union treasurer.
NADA meeting
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Ayush Doctors’ Association (NADA) has convened a meeting on February 9, 11am.
Training for supervisors/enumerators
DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur Maong Aier has informed all absentees/reserved supervisors/enumerators that a special training would be held on February 5, 9am at DCs’ conference hall, Dimapur for conduct of Census-2011 at Dimapur town area. All supervisors/enumerators have been requested to attend the training. Action would be initiated against defaulter/defaulters as per the provisions Census Act of India 1948, added DC.
NSAMB committee meeting
DIMAPUR: Nagaland State Agricultural Marketing Board (NSAMB) has convened a meeting on February 4, 11am at NSAMB office complex, 4th mile, NE Expo site, Dimapur. All committee members for post creation under NSAMB have been requested to attend the meeting.
NCSA visits old age home
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Civil Service Association (NCSA) executive members visited the Old Age Home at Kohima, and interacted with inmates on the occasion of Republic Day on January 26. Association president, on behalf of the NCSA, handed over a number of household requirements such as buckets, mugs, tea cups, vessels, cereals and cooking oil to the home. The inmates in turn prayed for NCSA members, while some presented folk songs. The director of the Old Age Home thanked the NCSA for their concern towards the home stating their visit has given courage for the management to strive higher in their endeavour.
AGBCN 3rd general conference
DIMAPUR: The 3rd general conference of Association of Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland (AGBCN) was held on January 8-9 at AGBCN headquarter Singrijan, Dimapur. Held under the theme ‘Be holy because I am holy’, Rev. Rutherford, Professor BEE World USA was the conference speaker. The programme committee expressed gratitude to the conference speaker, Rev Rutherford, Professor BEE World USA, Rev. Vitoshe, Mission secretary SBAK, Aizuto and Obed Rai, Academic Dean Servanthood Bible College, Dimapur for exhorting the congregation at the conference. Further, ordination service was also conducted by Muktinath Sharma, chairman ordination committee where B Vinod Rai, executive secretary AGBCN and Dhanbir Rai, Lecturer Clark Theological College, Aolichen were ordained.
Republic Day celebrated
DIMAPUR: Along with of the rest of the country, Dimapur Municipal Council hoisted the national tri-colour to mark the occasion of 62nd Republic Day celebration of India. DMC CEO Nikhashe Sema took the salute, while DMC Advisors and office staff led by Chief Advisor Er. K. Keditsu sang the national anthem. Meanwhile, Republic Day at Chiephobozou ADC headquarter was graced by L. Temjen Jamir Advisor, Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency Nagaland, as chief guest. Cultural programme was presented by cultural dance by Nerhema village and folk song by women society, Chiephobozou. The chief guest later inaugurated the stalls.
Naga Mothers' Association grateful
DIMAPUR: Naga Mothers' Association (NMA) has expressed gratitude and to all visitors, well-wishers, individuals, NGOs, Churches, social organizations and government agencies for their contribution and continuous encouragement towards the NMA HIV and AIDS Centre.
NMA in a press release issued by its president Abei-u Meru acknowledged the support tendered by individual, groups and organizations, both in private and government sectors for helping them morally, spiritually and materially, both in cash and kind. NMA further extended best wishes for a happy New Year.
