Nagaland University vice chancellor, Prof K. Kannan said that the university still has a long way to go for which more unity and cooperation was required. One should be willing to undergo the pains and share the labour instead of passing comments, he said during the literary session of the ongoing All Sumi Students' Union (SKK) conference at Alaphumi village Saturday. Kannan, who was the guest of honour also stressed on higher education in the state.
He expressed hope that the students would be wise enough to realize what was right and asked them to condemn corruption in all manner at all times.
Delivering greetings, NSF president encouraged the students to be true leaders as their elders gave their lives for the progress and unity of the Nagas.
He said that the SKK as a platform has been producing many visionary leaders and expressed hope that in future too the Sumis would live up to such expectations.
A debate competition on the topic, "Advanced countries are responsible for global warming" was held where Pukhalu Shohe of Alaphumi Students' Union came first and Vitoli Sumi of Satakha Range Students' Union came second.
