A consultative workshop with heads of the institutions was conducted on Saturday at Peace Channel conference hall.
Addressing the gathering of institutional heads and teachers of various schools in Dimapur as the key note speaker, Razia Ismail Abbasi, co- convener, India Alliance for Children’s Rights said “What builds peace can build respect” Dwelling on the topic ‘Learning to live together’ the speaker said teachers were the biggest change makers in the world as they mould the young minds into what they would be in future.
It was therefore teacher’s ethical duty to teach what was right or wrong in living together, she added.
She further said Peace Channel’s activities should aim at creating alternative way in forming the children into peace builders. The consultative workshop was organized to strategize Peace channel activities in educational institutions in Dimapur during the year 2011.
District programme coordinator, Myingthungo Odyuo, chaired the proceedings of the workshop, briefing on the activities of Peace Channel was presented by Dorothy Humtsoe and strategic planning session by Jiji Joseph. The workshop was attended by 22 participants including teachers and Peace Channel officials.
