: SIT vigilance & anti-corruption Monday refuted ATAN’s claim that it was re-verifying some “aggrieved teacher members” even after furnishing report on bogus appointment of teachers (BAT) issue to the government. Drawing attention to ATAN’s claim, the SIT team leader and director & DIG vigilance & anti-corruption J. I. Yaden, in a statement, said it has not conducted any re-verification of teachers after submission of its report/findings to the state government February 25, 2010.
This case being a criminal case, SIT vigilance & anti-corruption said it was actively pursuing the criminal aspect of the case, to conclude it logically by summoning suspects/accused persons and witnesses under the provisions of law, suspected to be involved in sale/purchase of fake educational certificates and forged appointment orders and who are materials to the investigation. Therefore, it requested ATAN to restrain from “misleading” the public of Nagaland by going to the press without verifying the facts.
“The SIT vigilance & anti-corruption would rather appeal to the ATAN as law abiding citizens of the state, to extend their fullest co-operation to help in weeding out all bogus and illegal appointees,” SIT team leader said.
