Responding to SIT statement on re-verification of bogus appointment of teachers (BAT) issue, the aggrieved teachers’ association of Nagaland (ATAN) today urged the vigilance department to “stop harassing” aggrieved teachers “again and again”, who, they said were left without salaries for the past several months facing untold miseries. The ATAN executives, in a statement issued Tuesday claimed that as per their (SIT) verdict teachers were not culprits. The ATAN general members in a general meeting held February 1 have expressed inability to travel up to Kohima due to financial restraints, they said. The aggrieved teachers further said they were in a mood to move out on the streets to show their resentments if justice was not delivered on time.
