3 KYKL cadres deserted from Myanmar camp

Manipur Police Wednesday revealed that the three KYKL cadres arrested by Assam Rifles from an Indian village in the international border with Myanmar were deserters from the outfit’s camp in Myanmar.
Troops of 12 AR arrested the three KYKL cadres from Nambashi Khunou, a village at the international border in Manipur’s Ukhrul district, under Kasom Khullen PS on last Monday.
The apprehended cadres identified as Nongthonbam Telheiba Meetei (20) of Chingarel, Takhellambam Rabi Singh (28) of Thangmeiband and Kshetrimayum Ranajit Singh (19) of Langol Zone-III were handed over to Imphal Police Station today, police said.
Meanwhile, during interrogation the trio disclosed that they had deserted from KYKL camp located at Thanan area of Myanmar.
On the other hand, police investigating into seizure of huge arms and ammunitions on January 30 night from Wabagai village revealed today that it belonged to KYKL.
