A new tourist spot is being developed in the Jotsoma Community Reserved Forest at ‘Puliebadze Chaheki’, connected by road stretching around 8 km from Kohima town.
According to Jotsoma Youth Organization (JYO) president Vilhubilie Peseyie, the tourist spot is located at a place where one could enjoy the beauty of nature.
The people of Jotsoma have been preserving the reserved forest for many years for the welfare of the people living “downstream”, Peseyie stated, adding that the area was open to public on all weekdays and visitors could contact 9436832110/9436010105 to visit the spot.
Meanwhile, JYO informed that the village during its general meeting on January 22, while reaffirming its ban on hunting, fishing, collection of flowers, evergreen plants or destruction of flora and fauna in any form within Jotsoma jurisdiction, had entrusted the youth organization to ensure strict compliance of the ban.
In this connection, JYO has cautioned that anyone caught violating the ban or carrying arms within the reserved forest area would be dealt strictly as per rules laid down by the village authority.
